Fife Golf Trip Planner
Fife is the cleanest Scotland golf trip to understand from the US: one base, short drives, and a mix of world-famous and properly local links.

Planning notes
St Andrews is the anchor, but the East Neuk courses make the trip feel Scottish rather than packaged.
Lundin and Leven are ideal for golfers who like old links with less theatre.
Add Carnoustie if the group wants a serious championship test nearby.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to get a St Andrews Old Course tee time?
Apply through the St Andrews Links Trust ballot online, which runs each autumn for the following season. A licensed specialist operator can also arrange priority tee times — this is the most reliable route if you need a specific date.
Is 5 days enough for a Fife golf trip?
Five days works well if you prioritise St Andrews plus two or three East Neuk courses. Seven days gives you time for Kingsbarns, Dumbarnie, the East Neuk courses, and St Andrews without rushing any of them.
Where should I stay in Fife for a golf trip?
Elie is the natural base for the first half of the trip — close to Lundin, Leven, Crail, and Dumbarnie. Move to St Andrews for the second half so you are walking distance from the 18th green on Old Course day.
What courses can I add to a Fife golf trip?
Carnoustie is the most popular addition, just 45 minutes south by car. Elie Golf House Club adds a characterful loop with the famous periscope starter's hut. Ladybank is the best inland option if the group wants a change from links golf.
